This sandstone apartment is in beautiful, historic Rothbury village, a duck’s hop from the pretty River Coquet. Built by famed industrialist Lord Armstrong (of Cragside Estates nearby) in the 1870s, Owl Apartment has gorgeous views towards Simonside and the pretty village church.

  • Owl Apartment is snuggled down a quiet private lane and is deceptively roomy. It has been recently furnished to a very high standard.

  • Owl Apartment is accessed via a personal, secure gate to a small courtyard. A flight of steps leads up to this first floor apartment. There is an outhouse in the courtyard for you, perfect to lock away your bikes and other equipment.

  • In the entrance hall there are coat hooks and storage, just right for kicking off your boots after a long walk.

  • The hall offers access to the spacious open plan lounge, with stunning views towards Simonside. There is comfy seating for four, with a long leather settee and single chair. The window to the front showcases those lovely views. There is a 32 inch LCD television, DVD player, collection of books, games, and DVDs for rainy days - and that essential free Wi-fi internet. The dining area has a dining table and four chairs.

  • The modern kitchen is well equipped and fitted, with wall and base units and wooden bench surfaces. Modern, integrated appliances include an electric oven with gas hob, a microwave and a fridge. The window looking out towards Simonside gives the kitchen an open, airy feel.

  • The master bedroom has a double bed with bed side tables, and plenty of storage space with its large fitted wardrobes and a chest of drawers.

  • The second bedroom sleeps two, with a three quarter size bed, wardrobe and views of the church in Rothbury village centre. Towels are supplied in both bedrooms.

  • The modern bathroom has a large corner shower cubicle, wash hand basin, low level WC, tiled walls and flooring and mirror.

  • There is plenty of free on street parking available nearby.

  • One well behaved pet is welcome to stay at Owl Apartment.

  • The popular village of Rothbury has excellent independent shops, cafes, restaurants and amenities and is located on the edge of the beautiful Northumberland National Park - an ideal base to explore the Coquet Valley, rural Northumberland and its pretty villages.

  • The village comes alive in the summer with music festivals and other arts events.

  • Cragside Country House is on its doorstep – the first house fueled by hydro-electricity – and filled with fascinating gadgets and features by the inventive Lord Armstrong.

  • Cragside gardens are renowned for their spectacular display of rhododendrons in particular. Gardening genius William Armstrong experimented with water, landscaping and plants, creating a garden you can explore for hours.

  • The spectacular Northumberland coast is an easy 30 minute drive.
