Pennine Cabin has uninterrupted views over the Northumberland National Park. The lodge sleeps up to six, is perfectly peaceful and tranquil for a relaxing holiday, has wheelchair access, and was fully and beautifully refurbished in 2017. It has views over stunning countryside, 3 resident horses and black Hebridean sheep grazing.

  • Pennine has three bedrooms, one double and two twins

  • The spacious open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area has a 50” wall mounted flat screen TV (with Freesat channels and DVD Player)

  • The well-equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, separate freezer - and a lovely view over Ealingham Fell: wild buzzards are often seen circling

  • French doors in the double bedroom lead out onto a hardstanding area, an ideal platform from which to enjoy views of the stunning International Dark Sky Park and Northumbrian landscape

  • The bathroom has a shower cubicle and toilet (no bath)

  • Bed linen and duvets are provided

  • Central heating throughout and free Wifi

  • On-site parking and secure bike storage available and cot and highchairs available upon request

  • Outside, you’ll find wooden benches, a barbecue area, tables, and a large tarmac courtyard for playing swing ball and basketball and for children’s cycling. In the private games field, you can play football and cricket

  • There is a laundry/drying room outside, with a washing machine and drying racks, perfect for those muddy boots and coats, free for guests to use

  • The cabins have a large shared Games Hall, great for a rainy day or to chill out in the evenings. Play table tennis or pool – board games, books and toys are provided too

  • The Games & Function Hall can be booked by guests on request, perfect for group get togethers, celebrations and wedding receptions, or it can be used as a conference or class room. The Hall is spacious and comfortable with plenty of chairs and tables. There are toilets and a kitchen area. The stage can be made available by prior arrangement for performances. Fully accessible, wheelchair users can access the Hall via a ramp. Perfect for making teas and coffees for meetings, or for preparing food for events, the Hall kitchen has a cooker, halogen hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Should you not wish to self-cater, we can recommend local caterers. The original sprung dance floor is still in place!

  • Beautiful Bellingham is a 10-minute walk, the gateway village to Kielder Water & Forest Park. It has many traditional inns, pubs, cafes, shops, a children’s playpark and excellent 18-hole golf course. The North Tyne River meanders through the village and it is popular for fishing

  • Bellingham’s Heritage Centre celebrates the area’s rich farming and mining past. You can explore a blacksmith’s forge; the romance of the age of steam on the ‘Wannie’ railway line and discover a fascinating insight into the robbery and violence of the Border Reivers Raiders that was rife in the 16th century

  • Hareshaw Linn Walk is a stunning 2.5-mile walk nearby, passing through the remains of an old ironwork, alongside a burn, crossing 6 wooden bridges and ending at a magnificent 30-foot waterfall
